The economic prospects for Africa are positive. Currently, there is tremendous development and growth potential for businesses in various sectors of the economy.

Being the modern entrepreneur and/or investor who wants to make the best of any opportunity you see, you know that you have to jump on to such opportunities quickly and efficiently. You may, for example, need fitting buildings designed in such a way that they comply exactly with your needs. You want to create jobs for the local population, something which will not only generate more money in the economy but will also ensure a higher level of general prosperity. It will allow you to take the lead in corporate social responsibility in accordance with worldwide standards.

Africa discovers Remco Afrique

Towards the end of the last century many multinationals from Western Europe moved their production activities to the – then – much cheaper Central and Eastern parts of Europe. Remco Afrique can serve the market with buildings that suit each stage of the economic development. The production halls that were first made in Central and Eastern Europe were relatively simple constructions. At a later stage, storage and production facilities were added. Presently, we see a similar development in Africa.

The first Remco Afrique project is being constructed in Owendo, near Libreville in Gabon. In September 2010 we were commissioned to construct two industrial buildings with an overall surface of 21,700 square metres.

The Gabon government wants to move from simply cutting down trees and selling the trunks to providing added value. The purpose of this operation is to ensure that lumber-processing companies achieve an identical sales level while needing only one third of the original number of trees. What’s more, fewer new trees need to be planted now, which, in turn, contributes to a higher neutrality of the carbon footprint of the industrial enterprise.
